• Craig Foisie, D.M.D., MS

    Dr. Craig Foisie grew up in Canton, CT and attended the Loomis Chaffee School. He went on to receive a BS in biology from Brown University in 1998 before graduating from the Boston University School of Dental Medicine in 2003. He joined our practice after a ten-year career in the US Navy, during which he received a certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry from the Naval Dental Center Mid-Atlantic in Norfolk, Virginia. After Norfolk, Craig spent three years as a general dentist at the US Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan before starting his residency in periodontics at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, MD. There, he obtained a certificate in periodontology and a Master of Science in Oral Biology from George Washington University and was trained extensively in all aspects of periodontal and implant surgical therapy. During his periodontal training, Craig also completed a four-month rotation in anesthesiology at the National Naval Medical Center where he received training in general anesthesia and credentialing in intravenous conscious sedation. After his residency, Craig served as the Department Head of Periodontics at the Naval Branch Health Clinic, Groton, CT from July 2010 until August 2013.

    An active member of the local dental community, Craig has served as president of the Connecticut Society of Periodontists. He presented his Master’s research thesis in dental implant decontamination at the 2012 American Academy of Periodontology Annual Meeting and the 2011 International Association for Dental Research.

    In May 2011, Craig successfully challenged the rigorous American Board of Periodontology examination and achieved diplomate status. He is also a diplomate of the prestigious International Congress of Oral Implantologists, having successfully passed rigorous written and oral examinations while presenting over 200 completed implant cases for professional peer review.

  • I.L. Cantner, II, D.M.D., M.Sc.D.

    Dr. Lee Cantner received his Bachelors degree in biology from Lafayette College in 1968 and his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 1972. He became a friend and colleague of Dr. McAraw while in his specialty residency in Boston University. He received his specialty certificate and a Masters in Dental Science from Boston University in 1974. After a two year tour in the Army at Walter Reed Hospital outside of Washington, D.C. Dr. Cantner practiced in Philadelphia, PA. During this time he taught at the University of Pennsylvania and for the Public Health Service.

    Dr. Lee Cantner joined Dr. McAraw in 1978 and they have enjoyed a wonderful partnership. In 1994 they started the River Valley Study Club, an organization dedicated to studying Comprehensive Treatment Planning for difficult dental cases. This organization has brought to the local area lecturers from all over the world to teach our local doctors.

    Dr. Lee Cantner has received awards for the extensive use of dental implants in modern dental therapy. He has also been chosen as one of Connecticut’s Top Dentists six years in a row.

  • Matthew S. Cantner, D.M.D.

    Dr. Matt Cantner has spent his life growing up in our Connecticut shoreline community. His undergraduate education was completed at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa where he received a dual degree in biology and economics. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania and stayed at the Ivy League school for his 3 year specialty training. He received the Director’s Award for the top resident at the university and the highest achievement award from the Northeast Society of Periodontists.

    In 2004, Matt joined his father, Lee Cantner and Jim McAraw adding a new outlook to their well established practice. He has been extensively trained in all aspects of periodontal and dental implant therapy and enjoys treatment leading to specific aesthetic goals.

    Dr. Matthew Cantner has been chosen as one of Connecticut’s Top Dentists. He volunteers for the Mission of Mercy program which provides comprehensive dentistry to the underprivileged in Connecticut. Dr. Cantner also taught at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, Division of Periodontology.

    Dr. Cantner is a Diplomat and Board Certified by the American Academy of Periodontists. When not working, Dr. Cantner enjoys spending time with his 2 young sons and perfecting his swing on the golf course.

  • Tatyana Oks, D.D.S., M.S

    Dr. Tatyana Oks is originally from Brooklyn, New York. She attended Adelphi University in Garden City, New York, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Oks attained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. She continued her post-doctoral training in periodontics and implant surgery at Columbia and received a Master of Science degree in periodontics after successfully defending her thesis. Since completing her studies, she has worked in private practice and has also served on Dean’s Faculty at the University of Maryland dental school, where she taught clinical periodontics. Dr. Oks is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
