Craig Foisie, D.M.D., MS
Dr. Craig Foisie grew up in Canton, CT and attended the Loomis Chaffee School. He went on to receive a BS in biology from Brown University in 1998, where he played water polo for 4 years at the NCAA Division I level. After Brown, he attended Boston University School of Dental Medicine and graduated in 2003. Craig joined our practice after a ten-year career in the US Navy, during which he received a certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry from the Naval Dental Center Mid-Atlantic in Norfolk, Virginia. After Norfolk, he spent three years as a general dentist at the US Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan before starting his residency in periodontics at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, MD. There, he obtained a certificate in periodontology and a Master of Science in Oral Biology from George Washington University and was trained extensively in all aspects of periodontal and implant surgical therapy. During his periodontal training, Craig also completed a four-month rotation in anesthesiology at the National Naval Medical Center where he received training in general anesthesia and credentialing in intravenous conscious sedation. After his residency, Craig served as the Department Head of Periodontics at the Naval Branch Health Clinic, Groton, CT from July 2010 until August 2013.
An active member of the local dental community, Craig has served as president of the Connecticut Society of Periodontists as well as the New London County Dental Society and is a delegate of the Connecticut State Dental Association. He presented his Master’s research thesis in dental implant decontamination at the 2012 American Academy of Periodontology Annual Meeting and the 2011 International Association for Dental Research.
In May 2011, Craig successfully challenged the rigorous American Board of Periodontology examination and achieved diplomate status. He is also a diplomate of the prestigious International Congress of Oral Implantologists, having successfully passed rigorous written and oral examinations while presenting over 200 completed implant cases for professional peer review.
He enjoys surfing, skiing, swimming, is a music buff and lives in Noank with his son, Hudson and daughter, Juliette.
